Can you believe it is already October? That summer is now definitely over and Christmas is the next big thing ahead. I am one of those people who love autumn. I love the yellowing leaves, the chilly mornings, the fresh air, that extra cup of tea. Evening walks in the dusk through puddles in wellies. I always want to live in a little cottage on the country side when this season comes, and right now as I am writing this post I am looking at the possibility of a weekend to the Lake District. It is a bit far away though. Can anyone recommend any other beautiful area closer to Ascot or Reading?

Guildford in Surrey is a really nice town surrounded by very beautiful country side. I am Danish and have been living here for the past 9 years. Still absolute adore this place.

I’ve only been to Guildford twice, but I do remember that the nature around the town was very nice. Hills and sheep if I remember correctly. Googled it just now and it looks like the river wey would be a nice place to go for a walk. Thank you! :)

Isn’t Voracity completely stunning? Only discovered it last week! We were in Hanley looking at schools this week. We absolutely love the villages, pubs and national trust houses around there- the NT app is just fab- Greys Court, Basildon House, Nuffield Park. Gorgeous Villages-the Peppards, Rotherfield Greys… We spend tons of time going up and down the Chilterns (we’re in Great Missenden)-honestly don’t think you can go wrong. The Olde Bell, Hurley lovely….a bit endless. Will do a London bloggers meet up at mine at some point Marianne, so that will be a good excuse to explore this way!!x

I really love it. When autumn comes my taste moves from all white and pastels to darker, dustier tones with leather, wool and wood :)
Hanley? Do you live all the way up there?

No, no, no! You should just get on a train and go to the Lake District! I’ve told you this before Marianne!!!
